Love Dare Day 32: April 21, 2020

What is Day 32 about:

Since the beginning of our species, Satan has used shame in sex to destroy one of God’s most beautiful gifts to his children. This chapter discusses sex, but more importantly intimacy, in a marriage as designed by God.

What do I think about the material:

After reading this chapter, I thought I should read the creation story in Genesis to refresh my memory on when everything changed. The first mention of man and woman being together naked is in verse 25 of chapter 2. It says, “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”

For the purpose of this post and to summarize the chapter, I want to focus on sex and shame. I believe shame is one of the strongest weapons Satan has against us. However, the pleasure of Godly sex is one of God’s greatest gifts. This chapter references the pleasure to that of the joy we will enjoy forever in Heaven. Think about that for a minute.

Sex is often not spoken about in the Christian community. Our shame and misunderstanding of how to talk about sex has increased Satan’s power through shame. This is one reason I am so incredibly proud of my wife’s passion. She is constantly speaking about sexual health from a Christian perspective.

God created sex for pleasure in a marriage and because of the fall, reproduction. The Bible mentions sex several times. This is a sacred act to be performed in a marriage and it is designed to enhance our relationship, not hinder it.

Lastly, this chapter discusses how we are to not use sex as a weapon. How many times have we seen this in the media. Our society has used sex to destroy lives and control lives. In a marriage, we can’t let that pollution in. We must use sex as a gift that we give each other and not as a sticking point to make sure the other behaves.

Men, this paragraph is for you… Our world has taken the delicate flower that is woman and used sex to make her wilt. No matter how sheltered your spouse may have been, it is likely that she has been negatively affected by sexual misconduct. It is now your responsibility to pray for her healing and be respectful on all accounts. Open the lines of communication with her and keep respect at the top of your list.

This topic is close to my heart and I wrote a short ebook on the topic called Foreplay 101. The link takes you to amazon to purchase the book, but if you want a free copy, send me an email, jonathanbbiles@gmail.com, and I would gladly give free copies to anyone in need.

My task:

Today’s challenge is to initiate sex with your spouse if they are available for this. Again, men, this is not permission to force the issue. Remember the delicacy of your mate. It also asks for you to pray that the event is enjoyable for you both.

Out of respect for my wife, I will not disclose how I performed the task, or her reaction.

  • I was discussing this topic with a few of my friends from bible study. We all agreed how BEAUTIFUL and SAFE sex is within the confines of marriage. It’s something to be shared between the two and it can be seriously awesome. Love this post Jon
